Spanish Class at 57

Some of you know (that is a funny statement in itself, since I think the only person who reads my blog is my daughter -in-law...but I will continue to think I am part of the world wide web) that I am taking a Spanish class. It is Conversational Spanish and goes nice and slow. I think almost too slow for our patient profesora, but barely slow enough for most of the students...in fact it is a stretch for me. I have found that my memory is not as elastic as it once was and then after much studying it refuses to hold on to information that the night before I was sure I owned. In the class we are required to do a cultural presentation. Last semester I did my presentation on the Dominican Republic...I did an electronic slide show, incorporated music, had a narrative and let's not forget catered it myself with Dominican food.....Ok, I learned a lot, but didn't feel like repeating the same performance...so I chose a topic that I thought would be fun....and it was from la lista de la profesora...."History of the Taco". Actually the taco is an amazing food item and has quite a distinguished history and then I found this link on U Tube.....I am planning on using it at the end of my presentation, but I am a little afraid it is over the top... however, la profesora has a good sense of humor. As long as I do a professional presentation prior to this movie, I think I will be OK...check it out and let me know what you think......I was considering calling the last segement of my presentation: "The Americanization of the Taco...or Sack Me Up Another One Sonny!".

Jan. 3, 2008 - Spanish class is now over....it was a great experience and I learned a lot...now if I can just remember what I've learned it will be fantastic...I will have to work at it, because what goes in my head does not always stay.....I had a link to the above video that was on utube...but it was changed...so I downloaded the video and decided to just put it in my blog...oh, by the way..my profesora laughed outloud over the video! (Thanks NBC and SNL)

How DID the presentation go????? Of course that video clip was from SNL studios! All I could think of while watching was a recipe for heartburn/indigestion! :) Funny!
