This is so hard for me.....

She proceeded him in death. He married Betty Jane McClellan Peterson in 1985. An obituray says a lot...but it doesn't tell what the heart of a man was like.
Ray:
  • was forever 25
  • had the sense of humor of a teenager even at 84
  • loved people
  • never met a stranger, because after 5 min.'s he knew all about them
  • had a positive attitude and faced life's problems with a "can do attitude"
  • was blessed with two wonderful wives
  • had friends and kept friends...some for 70+ years
  • had the respect of his kids and grandkids
  • was a servant of God and loved to serve Him
  • appreciated the little things of life
  • was awed by God's creations
  • wasn't afraid to preach the Gospel..to anyone, anywhere
  • loved to eat and was a pleasure to feed
  • counted his blessings by the number of extended family members he had
  • could find the "good" in people
  • focused on "the cup being half full" not "half empty"
  • held down 3 jobs once to support his little family
  • played softball well into the beginning of middle age
  • was a big tease....even more so when he was younger
  • appreciated the blessings in his life
  • made friends of every doctor or nurse who ever treated him
  • stood up for what he believed
  • wanted the best for his children and grandchildren..especially spiritual things
  • loved sports - when he couldn't play them he'd watch them
  • supported his grandchildren's and children's activities
  • was honest and true
  • could be trusted
  • was a man of integrity

Most of all he was my Uncle Ray, father from the time I was 7 and a great friend. I will miss him greatly and feel blessed to have had him in my life.

Marilyn,
So sorry to hear of Ray's passing. I know how special he was to ya'll. I still remember Kelly dog thinking he killed Grandma and would bark when ever he was around.

Would like to catch up on your Ahia(Ohio) trip when you have time.
Sallie
