On Friday Jess and Sara came down with the boys.....the rope swing had been up for a few years and Jess felt it was time to change out the rope...which I thought was a good idea. Last time he threw the rope over the branch with a weight attached to it....and affixed a release rope that could be pulled to untie the main knot....or that's what I thought...But this time he went up the rope with his rescue gear on and redid the whole thing....it was pretty nerve racking to see him do this, but he has been trained to do rescues of this type and sometimes you just have to have faith in that training and let it happen....easier said than done....Steve had a hard time with it and had to leave the property. I felt I needed to be there in case something went wrong....I had the cell phone in my pocket and ready to dial 911....but Jess executed it with confidence and skill. I wish his dad would have stayed to see how well he did the operation.
Later we were all fixing dinner and Jess asked if we had seen the two little guys.....it seemed they had just been under our feet, but when we looked around we couldn't find them. Jess went outside to look and then came in and said they weren't anywhere around....that panicked us all...we went scouring the yard, shop, studio, sideyard, riverbank, screened in porch....totally in a flurry......and then I came up to turn off the BBQ....and saw something in the laundry room move....two little boys were sitting on the floor....with empty pudding containers all around them....sitting on the dog's pillow with their fingers digging down into the sticky pudding...needless to say they were covered with pudding and knew they were in trouble....I didn't care about the pudding...but I sure wanted them to answer when we called them....Brock is pretty good about taking care of what he needs...and I guess he needed pudding. Wyatt is pretty good about following Brock....So we let Wyatt follow Brock into the bath tub to get cleaned up and ready for bed......
On Saturday friends came up for a picnic...We have had Easter Saturday picnics for about 15 years with the same great friends, Myrna, Jana, Kyle,....and now their families...Glen, Tyson, Makeely, and Daisy. We usually have beautiful sunny weather. I think this is the first time we have ever had rain...but we decided not to let it stop our fun...it was cold and wet outside, but that didn't slow the little ones down.
Wyatt's first time to really get into the action independently.
Bodie was so excited...he helped plan the party and was looking forward to every detail.

Love it! :)
It was such a nice time! Even if the weather didn't want to cooperate!
Sounds like it was a great day for all. Love the pudding picture, it says it all G*U*I*L*T*Y.
