We were glad to have Zach and Eddie come for a visit to see us from Ohio....they were here a couple of days and then off to the Grand Canyon....after hiking they decided to head for the Pacific Ocean....quite the road trip....It was great to see them....Steve said he and Eddie were always the same height...but someone is shrinking....Mr.Maier! Steve and Eddie have been friends since they were little boys. Eddie lived right across the street from Steve. Once when my mother was visiting, it happened to be when Eddie came through Flagstaff. Steve and Eddie were talking about their childhoods....packing a sack lunch in the morning and riding into the country with their b-b guns over the handle bars of their bikes, fishing in the Blackfork, exploring and being chased off of Will's Grove, building forts in the neighborhood...and ravaging forts in the neighborhood, playing baseball in the dirt lots and parks and just in general having a wonderful time. My mother listened and later said to me, "Steve had a wonderful childhood...kind of like Huck Fin"...and he did. His childhood was filled with good friends, innocent adventure and lots of good times. Even though I have heard the stories many times, I still love to hear them....we have known each other now for almost 40 years...even though we have only been married 34 years....the stories still don't get old to me.

This post left me smiling SOOOO big! :)
I could listen to Steve's stories too. For being such a gentle, loving man he sure looks grizzly and tough in that picture! :)
